Luggage bag
If you are a busy traveler the last thing you want to do is lose your luggage, bag, or other personal item. It can be a tremendous hassle, especially if you checked a bag and your airline managed to ship it to the wrong continent. You then have to make do with what you have until they manage to reroute it back to where you are. Then, odds are it will be delivered at a decidedly inconvenient time, such as during the presentation you were sent on the trip to deliver.
Granted losing your luggage or bag doesn’t always end up being that level of a headache, but with the new TSA requirements even misplacing it for a moment is grounds for having your bags searched and you interrogated. It’s less of an issue past security, but even so it’s not something you really want to add into your trip. Using hand bags and carry ons can avoid more important items being lost.
Thankfully, for shorter trips you can usually pack your luggage into a single bag. There are requirements that make things such as shampoo, medicine, or cosmetics slightly problematic. TSA guidelines require that you have all liquids or gels in containers that are less than 3.5 oz in volume, and that all your liquids and gels are able to fit into a single quart sized bag. If you can pack compactly, this can allow you to get everything on the plane with you and save the hassle of lost luggage or bags.
